Arm Lift Surgery

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure mainly performed for aesthetic reasons. This procedure gives the following results; reduces excess sagging skin that droops downward. Tightens and smoothes the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm. Reduces localized pockets of fat in the upper arm region. The excess skin on the underside of the upper arms is often the result of a pregnancy, an extreme weight loss or aging. An arm lift can be the solution for a loss of skin elasticity or excess skin.
An arm lift procedure involves excess skin removal, mostly on the inside of the upper arm, making the skin tighter again. An arm lift is often combined with a liposculpture, a procedure where subcutaneous fatty tissue is taken away.

Arm lift surgery may be right for you if the underside of your upper arms are sagging or appear loose and full due to excess skin and fat. Healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that impair healing and non-smokers, if you are a smoker you will need to quit smoking a minimum of 2 months before your arm lift procedure. An arm lift cannot stop the aging process. Sagging skin and recurrence could happen if weight fluctuation occurs.

During a consultation with our surgeon, your suitability as a candidate for arm lift will be discussed together with your expectations and objectives, where the incisions are made, the length of surgery time , the recovery time and healing process. Medications are administered for your comfort during the surgical procedure. The choices include local and general anesthesia. Our experienced anesthetist will recommend the best choice for you.
