Breast augmentation is the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedure worldwide. The procedure is conducted to increase the size of breasts or restore breast volume that has been lost after weight reduction or pregnancy, using breast implant or fat transfer. Breast augmentation increases the fullness and projection of your breasts, can improve the balance and the proportion of your body and improve your self-image and self-confidence and you should do it only for yourself and not for someone else.
You can consider having breast augmentation if you are 18 or older and if you are physically healthy, your breasts are fully developed and you have realistic expectations.
Breast augmentation does not correct drooping breasts. If you want your breasts to look fuller and to be lifted due to sagging, an uplift (Link to uplift page) may be required in conjunction with breast augmentation. Breast uplifts can often be done at the same time as your augmentation. Your plastic surgeon will assist you in making this decision,
Breast Augmentation can be carried out under General Anaesthetic, Local Anaesthetic and sedation. There are three different ways of inserting the implant. During the consultation the surgeon will discuss with you the placement of incisions and the pockets where the implants will be placed.
